David Gruber,
professor of philosophy, received the Tacey Award from the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) May 9, 2005 in the SUB
Spanish Room. Tom Guild, chair of the Assembly of State Conferences of AAUP
presented the award to Gruber. The Tacey Award is presented to an individual for
outstanding service to a conference during a number of years. Conferences
nominate individuals and the executive committee of the Assembly of State
Conferences decides who should receive the award. If the committee decides a
nominated individual should receive the award for that year, only one award is
given nationwide. More information…
In recognition of the outstanding leadership of David F. Gruber
(Philosophy, Social Science Division), The Missouri Conference of the American
Association of University Professors (AAUP) established the David F. Gruber
Leadership Development Award at its statewide meeting, March 5, 2005, in
Columbia, Missouri. Gruber has served as an officer of that body since 1993 and
has been a member of the National Council of AAUP since 1996. For years to come,
this award will give monetary support to AAUP members who attend training
seminars and regional or national meetings of AAUP. On March 23, President Dixon
presented Gruber with the Missouri Conference’s plaque, which commemorates the
naming of this award in his honor. More information…
