Dec 2017

Meeting of the Truman State University Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP)
December 4, 2017, 4:35-5:40 PM, in BH100
Present: Marc Rice (president), Marc Becker (secretary), Kathryn Brammall (Treasurer), Mark Hatala (vice-president), Ashley Ramsey

  1. SLU Road Show about how to organize a campus is coming here in April.
  2. Question about administrators changing grades over professor & departmental opposition. Decisions made based on fear of lawsuits rather than integrity, even though students have bullied professor. Problem of lack of respect from Dean, including humiliating faculty in front of students. How do we fix this problem on campus? We need clarification from administrators on what is sufficient written feedback. Do we need to examine grade appeal process?
