January 2019 minutes

Meeting of the Truman State University Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP)
January 28, 2019,
4:30-5:10 PM, in BH107
Present: Marc Rice (president), Marc Becker (secretary), Mark Hatala (vice-president), Bill Alexander, Anton Daughters

  1. Someone in Bio was concerned about intellectual property rights with patentable research. Truman follows the academic norm. Marc Rice & Bill Alexander will follow up on this issue.
  2. How do we recruit new people into AAUP? We’re treading water. Ideas: contact Dana Vazzana to participate in new faculty seminars—to present info on AAUP. Set it up for every fall? Explain how we serve their interests. Mark Hatala or Anton Daughters will do this. Marc Rice will contact Dana. We should also sponsor a social event every year.
